I just recently purchased a 250 tablet bottle of "Vitamins for the Hair" from vitaminworld, and here are its contents:
Niacin 35mg
Folic Acid 400 mcg
Vitamin B-12 6mcg
Pantothenic Acid 100 mg
Iron 15 mg
Iodine 150mcg
Zinc 15 mg
Copper 2mg
Manganese 5 mg
PABA(Para-Aminobenzoic Acid) 30 mg
Choline Bilartrate 125 mg
Inositol 50 mg
Isolated Soy Protein 100 mg
Brewer's Yeast 5mg
------------------
Now I wonder what results I could really expect, if not an extra .5 inch of growth monthly.
Anyone here taking vitamins for their hair? Let me know how its working for you. I'm anxious for input.
Thanks in advance
More brightly colored urine.
I didn't see Biotin in that line-up. I have heard this is one of the leading vitamins in the hair department of the human body. Peace!
I take a multi-vitamins and vitamin C daily for work-outs as well as B-Complex. I am not sure how much they have helped though. I do know that I have to cut my finger nails weekly, but I have always had that problem since childhood.
I'm really surprised that there is no Biotin in there.
Brewers Yeast contains Biotin. This is why it is not listed as a separate ingredient.
Cheers!
*whispering in His ear my secret to growing my hair*
Actually it is not a secret. I take prenatal vitamins. Yes, the ones for pregnant women! It is chocked FULL of those same vitamins and such. And guys, don't freak.. You will not grow breasts or give birth!
I learned this trick from my very best friend in the world and her hair is LITERALLY 2 inches from the floor. Her secret... stay pregnant. Her youngest is 3 but she still has a beautiful mane that makes others envious!
Good Luck!

I've been pretty happy with Centrum Performance, it has a lot more stuff than most hair-growth vitamins...
what's really essential for hair growth is protein.
hair is 88% protein, so no matter how many vitamins you consume,
if you're deficient in protein, then you won't grow hair any faster.
100 mg of protein is not enough...especially if you want to grow hair longer.
Body builders generally know that to gain muscle mass, they have to consume 1 gram of protein per body weight (in lbs.) i.e. if i weigh 160 lbs, then i'd have to consume 160 g to gain or maintain muscle.
The same applies to hair growth... you want to consume as much protein as possible, but not too much... body builders generally work-out every other day, and in between, they consume large chunks of protein, also every other day... so i suppose one could use that strategy for hair growth.
You could also replace protein with amino acids, as it'll be less taxing for your liver...
Comparing Body-Building with hair growth? Your comparing apples to oranges here. First of all, muscle mass is made up of mostly water. They use protein to help "repair" the damaged muscle tissues from an intense work-out. A big portion of consumed protein by body-builders does not even get used up and ends up in our waste. Your body can only use so much protein a day. Since our body is made up of mostly water, is it safe for me to say that if I drink 10 gallons of water a day, that my body will continue to grow? Or do I end up pissing most of it out?
Protein is good for the body as well as all vitamins and minerals, but there is no need nor any evidence that you need as much as you claim.
So what are you attempting to compare between the two?
Re-take your high school biology courses.
Your reasoning is wrong.
I am beyond high-school biology. This is not "reasoning", it is a fact! What do you think muscle mass is made up of? Skeletal muscle tissue--What do you think this is made up of?
The FACT is and you can look this up anywhere is that Skeletal muscle tissue is seventy- percent water. This is backed-up and supported by science and research.
If you are going to say someone is wrong, then you need to explain why, instead of attempting to insult one with a short smart-ass response you made above.
might as well be vitamins...
