Hey, how would i cut my hair. its just past my shoulders.
Could i let it all loose and cut it with scissors??? whats the best way.

That's dead funny. Occasional trimming of split ends is helpful at rare intervals. I've had the best results with women hairdressers who used hairclips to separate a few strands at a time, trim those, re-clip the hairclip somewhere else, etc. I'm not quite sure how to ask for it to be done this way, though.
It's nice to have them run their hands through my hair (don't tell my wife, LOL), but not enough to get me to have it done at less than 9-12 month intervals, in fact I haven't had it trimmed for a couple of years. They will, of course tell you that to prevent split ends you need it done at 9 week intervals rather than 9 months, but that will of course make it shorter and shorter! Don't fall for that one. You also need to emphasize how little you will let them remove.
The other issue is what shape edge you want. If you have them do a 'straight' edge, it will look really cool at first, but will tend to grow out into two points (and it will grow out, as you don't want it cut often enough to prevent that). This is because all the hairs start from different places on your scalp, so to get it to look straight they actually all have to be different lengths. There are basically two other options - vee shaped or curved. I prefer to go for curved, as I prefer the way it grows out.

I would have liked to express my opinion on people who use this comments but I'm not about to step to your level....
All joking (sick or otherwise) aside, there is a serious anthropological point here. The Nazis did to the Jews what other societies have done before when enslaving people - they shave their heads as a sign of submission and degradation. Why do you think the military are so keen on those painfully short haircuts? It is a potent symbol that says "You are mine to do with as I please - you have no self worth, you have no independence of thought or spirit, you are my slave, you will submit to my will absolutely."
Long hair is a primaeval symbol of the unbowed, undefeated warrior. They call us rebellious. Damn right.

2. Pick up the scissors.
3. Throw the scissors away.
