On Sunday, during the Dignity social hour, this guy came up to me and gave me the most glowing compliments on my hair: how beautiful and full it was, etc. Then he added that I was "at the cutting edge of fashion"
This last comment really surprised me and I asked him to explain. He said that on the west coast, the newest trend in male fashion is long hair. (news to me!).
Getting a compliment from one of the Chicago clones was the very last thing I expected!
Nice compliment, I must say!
I would like to add this:
Even though LONG HAIRed men is the newest trend in male fashion...
it will still take LOTS of pain, suffering & sacrifice to get into
that trend and so...
will probably always remain the *exception* to the norm.
Well said..
and also takes to long to achive the long hair look, for the ever changing fashions and trends.
by the time the kids have endured the pain, suffering & sacrifice to achive the long locks .. Damn short hair is in fashion again.!!! lol
time for a BUZZZ....
time for a BUZZZ....
AAAHHHHHHH!!!!! I'm melting...
I'm melting...
I'm melting...
If the only pain, suffering and sacrifice in my life is connected with my hair I'll have lead a very easy life :-)
Let's not take ourselves too seriously.
Well, at least a fashion will require something more than money....
God bless such a fashion which should spread ;)
Being on the west coast myself, I can pretty much vouch for that. It definitely is a trend. (Though I have always wanted long hair, and never realized how far the "trend" extended till I started growing.) And what a great compliment! Keep it on the cutting edge, kay?
I just got back from the grocery store where most of the local university students shop. "Long hair" is definitely making a trend with plenty of guys in various stages of awkward, wearing hats and bandanas. One fellow had a 1" (2.5cm) proto-tail that didn't include ANY of his bangs/fringe/frontal hairs. The trend is encouraging but I was even more encouraged when I realised that all of these "long haired" guys and a lot of the girls have hair that is SHORTER THAN MINE :). And that is cool.
(And now I'll go back to working on my website update - the one with my 12-month progress pictures).
An ironic choice of words.
