What exactly DOES mousse do as compared to hair gel?
Well, mousse usually leaves more residue in your hair
which, when dry, can look a bit like dust fibers.
I prefer the softer, moist look of gels.
A very good product, especially while in the awkard stage, is pomade. Contains healthy ingredients and leaves a nice shine in your hair, while allowing your hair to be manageable. I use Crew Pomade. The trick is to not over-use this stuff. You only need a fingertip amount at a time. Seriously, this product should be in your arsenal.
How DO you use it? Just curious, I've seen the stuff before, but....It just seems like wax to me. LOL
You use just a little bit because it is thick. While your hair is still damp, rub a little bit on both hands and work it through with your fingers from the root to the tip. Stuff is great, never hardens, keeps the hair manageable and gives it a shine.
I use American Crew Pomade, but there are others.
It's been years since I used mousse, myself, but I found it acted a lot like hairspray - the only difference being that you applied it by hand, as opposed to spraying. There are only three things I use in my hair now, and they're all products by Suave (nice, cheap, effective):
Shampoo
Conditioner
Spritz Styling Gel (help to significantly reduce frizzing) - I was wearing this when I took the recent pictures I posted of myself.
In my experience, I believe mousse dries faster. And if you use L`Oréal, its mousse is not sticky at all, whereas gel seems to stick.
