This is just a reflection on men who wear their hair with a ponytail all the time. I wear a ponytail occasionally, but it seems to me that men who wear it like this all the time are somewhat ashamed of their long hair. And I've seen men who wear it short on the top and the sides and very long in the back. This is not long hair to me, it is just strange. You don't see a woman with mutilated hair on the sides and top, and very long on the back(except for some lesbians),if women did this, it would look very strange, wouldn't it? Well, It looks just as strange on men.Long hair is just that, long hair all over.A strange haircut looks strange, no matter what your gender is. If a man does not have the inner strength and patience to wear true long hair, I suggest a haircut. If you don't want to do this, grow your hair evenly, you'll have more flexibility once you grow it.
Nonsense! I frequently wear a ponytail. It's comfortable. It's convenient. It gives me something to do with my hair besides wearing it down all the time.
Those are called "mullets". They don't qualify as "long hair", in my book. But, to each their own, I always say...
Again, nonsense! It's just a way for guys who wear them to enjoy the feel of longer hair while maintaining a shorter look up top. Hence the phrase, "Business on the front, party on the back".
Just because you don't see them doesn't mean there aren't women who wear that very style.
Now you're stereotyping and being judgemental. I have zero tolerance for such attitudes.
Define "normal".
The same could be said for you wearing long hair. Hell, the same could be said for all of us here. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - and that's not just a catchy sounding piece of dime-store philosophy.
Again, define "normal".
Until you develop an uncanny sense reading the thoughts of people who desire to wear certain hair styles, you have no foundation on which to base your opinions. I suggest you stop, now, while the whole is still shallow enough for you to climb out of.
On that note...
BRAVO Nyghtfall! I couldn't but not agree with your comments nor have writen a response better myself.
And - a ponytail helps to keep it from blowing all over the place on a windy day!
Your suggestion to stop is ironically funny ,since I posted that message for the purpose of inspiring disagreement. It's nice to see that it worked. I only expected those who disagreed to answer. I will define "normal" for you ,since there is such a thing, but I have a feeling you wouln't believe it."normal" hair is hair which is not mutilated. You appear to be nescient as to why our ancestors commonly wore long hair.I know I am being judgmental, but thank you for pointing that out .It is my right to be judgmental. other people are judgmental towards me because I have very long hair, it is my right to judge their haircuts as well. If you have zero tolerance,well...
Anyway,If you say you are comfortable with your long hair even though you frequenly wear a ponytail,I believe you.It would look cool if you wore it without the rubberband ocassionally, and please don't ask me to define "cool" or anything else or this discussion will never end. Keep supporting other people's desires to look strange. Great job."Bravo!" as someone unimaginatively replied.I'm done with this topic, shallow or not.

Buddy, a person's hair is a person's hair to do with what they want. I personally feel that an undercut with a ponytail is the coolest hairstyle to have. Whether you see that as mutilated or not is your business but respect my freedom, yeah? Some guys think ponytails look good, some don't. As for mullets, thousands of women have them in some capacity. Just look at www.mulletsgalore.com or www.mulletjunky.com! At the end of the day, Nyghtfall said all that needs to be said but don't be dicatorial about other people's bodies...
Let's not confuse inner moral strength with hair length--!
I had it long all over. I chopped it off in front because I thought it looked ugly. It was (and is) some 8 inches long in the back ... and I think it looks much better now. My purpose is to look good, not to prove anything. I think the girls at the party I was just at liked it; I like it; good enough 4 me.
Someone had to say something about those guys who just pretend to wear long hair.Pleeease! I'll have my man's hair long loose and sexy.No mullets or ponytails for me.
I wear my hair tied back into a pony tail all the time not because I'm ashamed of it but because my ears and face get extremely hot when my hair is down. I *hate* being hot... so until I move to Alaska, I'm afraid my hair will remain tied back.
