1. It's taking forever, and
2. My hair apparently isn't straight anymore. Back when I was a
little kid, I had rail straight hair. Now, my bangs have a curl
to them at the ends. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there
any way I can get my straight hair back? It's only the bangs,
which is a weird thing...
If you're getting haircuts or "trims" that will make it take "forever". Otherwise having overall good health is the way to make sure you get best possible hair growth. Following a good diet, getting plenty of sleep, and regular exercise are part of the equation. Some people take multivitamins. Reduce stress as much as possible. For most people hair grows at the rate of 1/2 inch or 2.5 cm per month. Some people's hair grows faster. Some slower. Some areas of your hair could grow at different rates. (I have this situation with my bangs/frontal hairs).
Yes this happens, surprising too. The longer the hair gets, the straighter it will be. In the meantime I have found that heavy hair gel products straighten the wave out of my hair. At the very least they will keep it under control. At some point if it is really unbearable various heat styling products could be the solution (though most here would discourage that as it can damage the hair).
Good luck. Growing long hair takes time, commitment, and patience. If you sign on for the long road you will find plenty of support and encouragement here.
Actually, 2.5 cm makes an inch ;)
I just don't wanna give some false hopes to our friend ;)
Though, if he can get away with 2.5 cm/month....Bah, I just wish it could happen to me...

hi im gurbi and recently had my hair cut from shoulder length to a bob cut i need to grow it a.s.a.p due to the fact i hate it i had it done from toni&guy they cut it to short i need it to grow within a month to shoulder length what can i do please help this is urgent??
There is nothing you can do to make your hair grow as long as you want it to within a month. Growing hair takes time. Depending on how fast your hair grows no matter what, you wont get it from a short bob to sholder length with in a month. Hair grows on average 1/2 inches a month so it will take time. Just be patient and keep a healthy diet, also make sure you get prenty of sleep this will assure that your hair will grow in strong and healthy. You can also use different hair care product to improve the structure of your hair while waiting for it to grow, you may not like it now but you will begin to like and enjoy your style with the differnt products you use.

Hey
I have just recently had my hair cut to a bob length. It used to be really long. N I absolutly hate it. Try different ways of doing your hair like twisted bits or french plaits and find a way thats easy to do and that you like if you do that then soon enough you won't hate it as much and it will be the length you want in no time

As your hair gets longer, say, chin and below, that curl will begin to straighten out for the most part. If it is only your bangs, then you should have no problem growing out your hair. Now, here is my advice to anyone starting out with growing their hair long: It takes patience and time. Too many people try too many crazy things with their hair because their impatient with it and only end up screwing it up. Forget about it for the most part if possible and just let it grow. Hair grows by average at a 1/2 inch a month. Some get more (not a whole lot more), and some get less. Be gentle with your hair.
If you had REAL curly of wavy hair you would see how great your hair type was. Its nothing to be bothered about.. just a thing you get when growing it out
I had exactly the same problem for a long time, but it wasn't just the bangs, it was all round. Once it got long enough to ponytail (including the bangs, mine are chin length), then after showering and soaking my hair in water, if you allow it to dry naturally in a ponytail, the result is straightened, smooth hair.
Until then you might as well just tough it out, you could try a straightener but it's not really worth the trouble.
I've been growing for a year and a half and it's not even to my shoulders yet. Fast enough for me! My hair is also curling at the ends, a bit of a slight wave overall. I always thought my hair was straight as a pin, but the wave is awesome! Beautiful stuff! Stick with it!
