The hair above my ears seems to have an incredibly short terminal length - the rest of my hair is growing nicely (2 years 7 months)but the area above my ears never gets any longer than about 4 inches (10cm).
Here's my theory : I've worn glasses for 25 years (lenses sometimes) - is there any chance that the constant friction from the glasses 'legs' could cause the hair that's being rubbed to have a short terminal length ? Also, for many years I had a corporate haircut that involved buzzing this area.
Anyone on the board have the same experience ? Is my theory b*ll*cks or a stunning scientific insight ?
Did you star bollocks out or does the forum actually censor out bollocks?
Either way, that's stupid as hell.
I doubt your glasses affect that...
btw
Thank you.
Actually, it's kind of ingrained from the Sex Pistols cover of decades ago. (I'm VERY old!!!)
The hair in that area never grows too long.
I also need glasses for reading and work so I'm always taking them off and
on. The hair in this area would always stick straight out for 3 or 4".
When I changed my style to undercut it eliminated that problem. (Now
watch everybody dogpile on me about the undercut bit.)
My friends and I buzz off the hair above our ears.
We both have that problem, but we don't wear glasses,
except for sunglasses.
It's not a big issue since the much longer hair above covers
the buzzed area.
It's a much cleaner look than having the curlies pop
out from there..
It takes some maintainance, though.. much like caring for sideburns.
I've worn glasses for over 21 years. I also wore my hair with various short military styles over the years. The hair over my ears is growing normally. In fact I have so much hair on the sides that when I put my glasses on I have to use a comb to pull the hair out from behind the arms.
well, i do wear glasses, and my hair there is shorter also. it seems though, that over the course of an inch or less, the hair goes from normal length and straight(the top) to shorter, and then curlier and course until it is actually the beard hair which is not blond and straight like my scalp hair, but curly and red/brown. so what i am saying is, the short hair is the transition hair.
later. :)
