Anyone see Hanson on the "Tonight Show"? The three boys that sang MMBOP years ago. They all had longhair a couple of years ago. Now they all cut their hair short. I guess longhair really is out of style. Oh well who cares.
Only one of them looks better with short hair. But it goes beyond hair. Back in Mmmbop times, no matter if you liked the music or the band, they became famous for being original. They were completely themselves and didn't care about standards.
With time, they bent in to "normality" and even their music reflects it. Pressure is too hard to bear, imagine someone on the spotlight... I don't want to imagine it. Will power is very much needed.
I wasn't fomd of their music, but at least it had a good message, as oppossed to Brit Spears or here whore-ry counnterpart, Christina Ag. And I liked Hansons long hair too. Even the older ugly one. ;)Too bad their moment in the sun is over, but hey, "puberty happens".
1 of them still has long hair
Oh, for the love of Christ! When will you people stop believing that celebrities and the entertainment industry dictate fashion trends?
IF YOU WANT LONG HAIR, THEN GROW IT!
I disagree with your statement. Celebrities and the entertainment industry are both synonymous with media, and, as such, have an influence on what's popular/accepted/trendy. Not everyone allows his or her self to be affected, but the media continues to dictate trends nevertheless.
Look at product placement, and how significantly the sale of Kangol products has shot up since Samuel L. Jackson made their hats a trendy thing to wear. An even more profound example is North America's recent acceptance of thong underwear, which used to have a reputation for being the sort of thing that was reserved primarily for 'loose' women; thanks to the one-hit wonder that was Sisqo, just about every mainstream minded girl and her mother now thongs without thinking twice about how silly they would've felt wearing them a mere seven years ago.
Unless I am very much mistaken, the correct verb is "to thing", not "to thong". A "thong" is the thing that one things.
By the way, what is "Sisqo"?
Erm, you're probably better off not knowing...
To clarify, I meant to ask when people will stop _allowing_ the entertainment industry to dictate their personal tastes in fashion.
Ah. In that case, I echo your (revised) statement.
i saw them. they were very good. excellent tune (plenty of me tonight-i think). great accoustic stuff. kudos to the hansons. allyou creeps who rag hanson are just jealous.
Hanson's first album wasn't that bad (if you like bubble gum), especially when it sold 8 million copies. All three of those guys are very talented and looked great with long hair. In fact, they vowed not to cut it. But then they changed their music and each of them cut their hair (all the wrong moves), and now they are out of the spotlight. Too bad. Anyway, I don't follow trends like Hanson or any other celebrities out there. I have long hair because it's what I want. I don't care if long hair is out of style.
Just a thought - I found it kind of funny. Click below.
Hanson might have cut their hair, but look around and see how many other guys are growing theirs.
