I discovered the CAUSE of baldness in April of 1996 when my head looked like a Bowling Ball. I've regrown more than 60 percent of my hair in the last 7 years. THERE'S NOTHING TO BUY. The CAUSE of baldness is acid in soap and shampoo. Just change the way you cleanse your hair and scalp with your present shampoo.
My family finally believed me early last year, 2002. Like most, they had thought "male pattern baldness" and "hereditary baldness" were true. No more. Now, they're regrowing their hair by minimizing shampoo usage.
Read a very thorough examination of the subject at http://www.getitback.us. That is NOT proof but a suggested formal Test at Colleges could easily be done, repeated several times, and published in Scientific Journals. That would result in further independent testing.
It's been a long time since I studied chemistry, but isn't soap (and shampoo) the opposite of an acid--that is a base or alkali? The premise of this entire essay is that it's the acid in shampoo that is causing hair loss. I'm open to any new idea, but they need to square with easily identifiable facts. Anyone with a science background want to chime in?

In fact they make acidifiers to lower the ph of the hair to close the cuticle layer of the hair.
I believe you are correct...
Well, perhaps for some people...but I ave shampooed my hair
almost every day for most of my life...
and I have hair that is so thick I have enough for myself PLUS
enough left over for two other people!
Besides, if you don't wash your hair...
you may not have any friends...
Good Luck!
Non-pH-balanced shampoos generally have a high pH (base) rather than a low pH (acid). Distilled/deionized water has a pH of 7.0 and is considered neutral. A normal adult scalp has a natural pH of around 5. A pH-balanced shampoo has chemicals added to LOWER the pH.
The linked website has properties of many chemicals, including some of the ones we are discussing. The pH varies from 5 to 10 depending upon which chemical, what concentration, etc.
Then why don't women also go bald? OR all men, for that matter? Besides, shampoos and soaps are alkaline. I'm glad you think you've found something that works for you, but it sounds like shaky science to me.
So that means that before the last 100 years or so, when men and women regularly soaped/shampoo'd their hair people rarely went bald?
