First off let me say, I'm one of the females that absolutely *LOVES* guys with long hair! It's extremely sexy... first thing I notice! But the point of this post, is that I think guys with long hair get treated SO unfairly. I don't understand why employers more often then not, choose not to hire guys with long hair, based on their appearance. One of my close friends has been passed over for many jobs because of his hair. He has been told out right, if he would cut his hair... the job was his. In my opinion it's a form of sexual descrimination...
I totally agree with you. Guys are also treated unfairly and
discriminated against for having their hair cut in what is
considered to be a girls style. I am a guy with my hair cut
into a bob that is just below my ears. I love the style and
would like to let it grow to about 2 inches below my ears so
that I could turn the ends under. I am hesitant to do this however because I am afraid that my employer will not like it. Today women wear buzz cuts so what is wrong with a guy that likes to wear his
hair in a pretty bob style if he keeps his hair clean and styled?
Will there ever be equality and freedom for men when it comes to hair?
Of course it is. Any dumb fool can see that. But so many judges have bowed to shearings, or had their husbands and friends to bow to shearings, that they can't face reality. They see everyone who appears before them to be beneath them (court decorum encourages this), so they squirm inside when they see someone of such stature before them who has stood up for himself when they did not.
Do you have more information about this? Where, when, etc.?
I wanted to address your comment that men with long hair get treated unfairly.....It brought a smile to my face because I work with a few long haired men and one of them had told me that he had just gotten pulled over on his way to work. Something to do with his tabs, anyway, in the end he was let go, but he drives a primered Camero and has the longhair and tattoo's. I totally agree with you. But where I work, there are a few long hairs employed and they can wear their hair anyway they choose, whether it is pulled back or flowing loose. So, I do have to say that I work for a wonderful company! I do have to say that I have been fortunate enough to have always worked for a company that allowed long hair....Gives me the great pleasure to get up in the morning to go to work.
