.. they don't deserve the putdowns that people give them. I think deep down inside everyone wants longhair.

What I just wrote is dedicated to all of you longhaired men out there!! Let me know what you think,

Male long hair is coming back, folks, but having a beautiful head of hair like the late Andy Gibb ... well-styled, handsome yopung man at the time ... is hard to come by. Keep checking the old 70's style, fellas, to get that authentic look. There are photos out there!!

Thanks for your support, Amber. America needs more positive outlook like that.
I had long hair when I was in college ('74-'78), but like everyone else I traded it in for an "insurance company haircut" when it came time to put food on the table. In fact, I have been working for an insurance company for the last 11+ years.
Two years ago I almost died because of a brain tumor that went totally undetected until it was virtually too late. Thanks to a brilliant (and comensurately expensive) surgeon, I'm here to help my wonderful wife raise our two great kids. The surgery, however, left me with a pretty horrid scar that runs from the top of my head down the back to my collar line. The obvious remedy, at least as far as I was concerned, was to go back to a ponytail.
My wife was mortified when I told her my plan; politically, she's just to the right of Saddam Hussein. Undaunted, I haven't been to the barber shop in two years and I couldn't be happier. As for the insurance company, I asked one of our Human Resource officers about company policy regarding men's hair (there are some long-haired guys in data processing, but being in claims I have more public contact). Her response was, "You've got COOL hair! Don't worry, you're okay with policy." Man, am I lucky or what?
Anyway, my wife has come around. She no longer complains when my hair falls in her face when we make love (in fact, she now grabs onto it, which I LOVE!), and she has also given me some helpful hints about maintaining my long hair.
So that's my story. I plan to let my hair grow until the short part in the front is about halfway to my waist, then I'll maintain it at that length.
Yes, you are right my friend. We long-haired guys really need support like this. The world's been VERY unfair to us by stereo-typing and imposing on such a bare human right as to grow the hair long. I have shoulder length hair and plan to keep it as long as possible. My hair is straight and looks good. I like the feeling of my hair touching my face when the wind blows. It is an experience that most, if not all, men would like to have but COULD NOT (for whatever reasons). So please continue this support and may one day, all steroetyping and suppressing on long-haired guys vanish from the Earth and freedom of choice returns to all men, giving them the chance to live life to the fullest!!
AMEN! I think that long haired men are incredibly sexy. There is something about men with long hair that exudes sexuality. I cant stand it when I hear or see someone discriminate against them. If only they would look back at our early world leaders, they would see that most men wore wigs of long hair, styled with a pony tail (early days of court rooms etc). I personally am a female with near waist length hair, I live in Northwest Iowa, and work in Advertising. I prefer to wear jeans and my leather jacket, and coupled with my long hair, this often draws looks and remarks when I go somewhere. Old ladies in the store give me a wide birth. It is funny. In the summer, when I am without the "leather jacket", these same ladies feel the need to walk right up to me and tell me they love my hair. Throw on the jacket, and they would run for cover. All you men that grow your hair long have every ounce of my support. My hats off to you and I wish you many happy strokes with your favorite hair brush.
