As for the Loreal Vive smooth intense line, it has been racking up great reviews lately, but I wonder... is there anyone on this board who has used it and it doesn't work well for them? Now is a good time to speak of it. I am excited to try it soon but I don't know, al this hype I'm just not sure it can live up to it....

Well I can only speak from my own experiences with my hair type and;
I wouldn't say it didn't work well for me. Initially the results were great but by the time I had bought my second bottle of shampoo and conditioner I felt the results were not as pleasing as they had been.
I do find it difficult finding a product that gives great results all the time. I enjoy experimenting though, so it’s not such a drag.
I'm currently using Aussie Moist (shampoo and conditioner) and I’m very pleased with the results. I've never used anything that has left my hair as tangle free and that, for me is a big plus. It also styles really well when dry.
However, will I still be using it (Aussie) in a month? Well the jury is still out on that one.

well, now that i wear a ponytail nearly everyday, i find flyaways are less noticeable, and my hair feels better then it has in awhile. It used to be dry, even using Aussie Moist. Now it just seems healthier, and i like how my hair lays with it. So i mean, yah... the results were fantastic for me, but thats really the thing: It worked for ME. Maybe it will or won't for you though. Its cheap, so experiment with a bunch of brands! Have fun with it.

I've been using Aussie Moist for years now and find it just as good now as the first bottle. This stuff DOESN'T build up like lower quality brands.
Feels and works the same to me.
Does Loreal Vive build up your hair at all?
Someone just said that the second bottle isn't doing as well as the first, that sounds like build-up to me. I haven't looked at the lable for this one but a good place to get current info on products is at salons where they use them all the time and get trade industry info on all kinds of brands.
Vive made my hair curlier than normal, thus length appeared shorter. This is what I didn't like about it. Not saying anything bad about curly hair, just I'd rather have waves than ringlets.
And yet some people say it made their hair straighter? It really must depend on the person's air type then. Do you usually have wavy hair or is it more on the curly side? Mine leans more towards the wavy state, and I don't want it to be curly or straight, I like it wavy.
If you have thin, fine hair...it is possible that it may make your hair too flat...
BUT for THICK unruly hair...it may help quite a bit!
The Conditioner is so 'potent' that using it twice (as Justin had tried by mistake)
made my hair way too relaxed and smooth...but this may be great for those
in the awkward stages!
Anyway, what works for one person, may NOT work for another...so experiment.
These ViVE products--at the very LEAST--will be gentle and nourishing to your hair...
and at BEST it will RELAX and SOOTHE & SMOOTH out some of the worst
aspects of any of the awkward stages.

Hmmmm...maybe 'potent' was a bad choice. How about 'effective'!
I don't think a conditioner would harm your hair. What I meant
was that it could relax thin hair...making it look flat.
Then again, from reading this Board, I would say that most here
have thick hair problems...
After reading the rave about the Loreal Vive, I decided to try it. For my hair, I still think I'm going to stick with Aussie Moist. I actually started using Aussie due to the suggestions on the board a long time ago. Here's my reasons why I'm sticking with Aussie, from most important to least important:
1) Most importantly, I didn't notice any significant difference b/w the shampoos, and I personally like the Aussie Moist conditioner better than Loreal's.
2) I like the smell of Aussie MUCH better than Loreal
3.) Aussie is cheaper than Loreal
Like LuksKind stated previously, it depends on your hair. I would try them both and see which you prefer.
