Hi
I am about a month into the bad hair phase at the moment... I am a first time poster here and wonder on average how long this phase lasts (and the hair starts to be less big and behaves more)?
Any info would be greatly appreciated!

The awkward phase is different for everybody. Depends a lot on your hair type, etc.
I've been growing since may so its about 3 inches at the moment
Well, I guess you are definitely entering the one of the Awkward Phases.
The next few months may be toough at times...and this will definitely
be a *test* of your willpower.
Since at a length of approximately 9 inches you could be considered to have long hair...
that would be at this time next year 3 inches + 6 inches (6 inches=1 year) .
But in the meantime, you can enjoy your daily, weekly and monthly progress...
Your ever-changing hair length will present you with challenges and
with happy milestones...

I'm hoping I can start getting it to look respectable soon coz its just big at the moment! I wouldnt mind being able to part it or something but it just all rises up at the moment... oh well a year of no hair cuts here I come!
How long is your hair now? There are many varieties of things that go on through the so-called "Awkward Stage." (It seems to be always changing.) You kind of have to go with the flow and adapt to a variety of styles to get you to that 9" mark. Once there, it is a piece of cake!
