I know...I know...never trim your hair while you're growing it out. But I did and I'm glad I did. My hair is thick, but the hair itself is fine (as in thin, not "cool"). I found after about 4" to 5" in length that sometimes the ends were tangling because so many were minutely split. I went to a trusted friend, a beautician, who carefully cut not much more than 1/4" inch from my hair, then went around and "evened" it all up since some hair had grown longer than others. Anyway, long story made short, my hair looks 100% better. Now I can continue to grow it out and, at least for the next few months, enjoy some kind of even profile. Hope some of you dudes don't have heart attacks! Josh
he..he...1/4" inch isn't bad to take care of those split ends!
Sometimes you just HAVE to take care of the damage before it gets
out of control!
Good Luck
I think you did the right thing. Prudent use of tiny shape-up trims while growing out can make even the awkward stage a bit more attractive and satisfying, and a person satisfied with their hair is less likely to give up and just chop it all off again. Good luck and keep growing!
