Just out of curiosity, I used to use shampoo pretty much every time I took a shower, that's at least 4 times a week and sometime 5-7 times. My hair got pretty dry, does shampoo dry out the hair much? or is it more the climate.
is it better to just shampoo once or twice a week and just rinse it out with water every time I shower?
I have thick, straight hair, light brown with a little bit of wave. I'm trying to get that Robert Redford look(like when I was 8 years old, maybe it's nostalgia : ) but I just got a cut about 2 1/2 weeks ago so it's still kind of short.
Shampooing as often as you need to shouldn't be a problem but my question to you is, do you use conditioner after shampooing? It doesn't sound like you do but this is necessary, especially as your hair gets longer.
very rarely, I mean maybe once or twice a month if my wife leaves it in the shower I might use it. Too be honest, I don't see a difference, but I'm no hair expert...
Right now I'm focusing on getting my hair to grow at least 3/4 down my forehead, but not too close to the eyes, and down covering my ears.
I agree that conditioner is very important, but I think it also depends on your hair type. I have a friend who can go for weeks without conditioner and you'd never know it. I never shampoo without conditioner, but that's just me.

You probably won't see the results from conditioners until your hair gets a little longer but use it anyway because from here on in the hair that is there will become the longest part of your hair as you keep growing it out and good care now will mean that it will be around longer.
