This has to do with what user PQ posted not too long ago... He was asking about using a brush and would it be good or not. It seems like he thought getting a brush would be good to help him smooth his hair down and reduce the volume... I have the same problem he apparently(and most of us!) do, my hair is just too volumous when it's in the akward stage. But I've heard that a brush will help to keep your hair down on your head, and so I did some research.... this is what I found:
First of all you need to get the right type of brush. They say that a large paddle brush is good for thick long hair and apparently it works well for "helping to get straighter hair" and this, I quote, I found on many pages, they say this type of brush is to be used for "achieving that silky smooth look." Isn't that what most of us are going for? They also said that it is good to use a brush made of boar bristles.
I will post more info when I find it, but I question: It seems like most people on this board say a brush is bad for thick hair, but every other internet site I read on reccomends it. What do all you guys think of this? I think I may buy a brush and see how it works....
That was great info about brushes!
I for one cannot go near my hair with a brush...for some reason
it just makes it worse...makes it look dry and frizzy...
I am only able to use a wide tooth plastic comb...
Though maybe someday I will might try a wooden one if I can find it.
Good Luck and thanx again!
And I for one have to get things started with a Brush, then go to the wide side of a Comb, and end with the small side. Shampoos, Conditioners, Combs, Brushes.........we are all so different!
Hahha, yes we are.
My hair is pretty thick but i suppose it isn't too bad, i probably just make it out to be worse than it is. It's a little bit wavy but not too bad at all. I am told a brush could have a good effect on taming my hair, as long as I get the right type. I will let you all know when I do!
Anyone else have comments/info/stories?
If you have hair that's "too volumous" it means you have wavy or curly hair. Am I correct? In that case brushing your hair while it's dry is a bad idea. It'll look poofy.
