hey! i'm kind of a musician kid type, and i'm just curious on opinions on how people think i look with long hair and what condition it's in. my only complaint with it is that it gets a bit frizzy in high humidity (of which northern virginia gets a lot of in the summer). and hey, it could always be longer but aside from that any ideas on the frizz? i try blow drying it but the thing that i never get is that when i do blow dry it there are lots of loose hairs that fly free and then dry almost frizzy already. i HAVE tried frizz ease serum, but recently on a trip some friends of mine meticulously dried it with a blow dryer, maybe put some gel or something, i can't really remember, and frizz was gone almost completely. is my technique for drying it bad? in any event, links are here....

ps - i'm 16, in the beginning of my junior high school year. i started growing it out midway in freshman year..... so i'm not really sure if it's growing fast or not. cool.
First, welcome!
Second.. WOW! You've got some amazing locks there, dood. Nice and straight, well taken care of. Be proud.. It suits you! I'm also 16 and have been growing for 14 months now, I'm also a guitarist so I can relate. :-P
Cheers.

nice shirt in the first picture! hair looks good to me, but others here will probably tell you that the blow drying thing isn't that good... damages hair and whatnot.
so, have you heard the extol's newest release, "synergy"? awesome album, although i do prefer undeceived or burial over it...
Undeceived was a good album, though I thought Burial had a darker atmosphere to it.
holy crap . haha this is awesome. not only did i meet some Extol fans (my absolute favorite band) but they know of Synergy too. Synergy, while being a near-masterpiece, doesn't beat Undeceived. maybe in my book, synergy/burial are tied...i don't know, but in any event IM me or something @ thelarkascend1ng . i'd love to chat metal for a bit. thanks everyone for the reviews and really nice comments!
Great looking hair...and if your friend's technique for drying your hair actually worked...
then it must be right for you!
Good Luck!
dear god, i want you... >_>
fan-girlness aside, i say keep it up! very healthy and thick looking. you keep doing your thing, my friend. ;)
i deal with frizz too (georgia), and what works for me is a laminating spray made by citre' shine. perfect for flyaways and frizz. awsome stuff, try it sometime.
Using a blow dryer can make the hair too dry and leave it frizzy. I stopped using a blow dryer just to see what would happen and I haven't used that thing since 3 months ago. Your hair is much easier to manage then mine; you have what the ladies call "wash and go" type of hair. Just stick to the basics (shampoo, conditioner, leave in conditioner and maybe a tiny bit of pomade) and you'll be fine. It's the leave in conditioner that will take care of of the frizz.
Hi mate,
nice hair, dont worry it takes times to grow, you wont even notice it.
Metal rules.
I only see what you're talking about in the last pic. There the flyaways are noticable.
What does your hair look like when you don't blow dry it?
It looks to me like the "flyaways" are shorter hairs that are beginning to grow out.
Take your time when you comb/brush it...don't just rip through it. Same goes when you are blow drying it. You may actually be breaking a lot of hair off during combing/blow drying it. You can remove years worth of growth with one swipe of the comb/brush if you aren't careful.
A detangler or leave in conditioner sprayed on your hair after the towel dry may help a lot.
On a scale of 1 to 10 I'd have to rate your hair a 12! Congratulations, Joel, it's lookin' really good!
