I was watching the Weakest Link a couple of days ago and one of the male contestants had nearly waist-length thick blond hair which he wore loose. When it was down to the last three contestants he was voted off by the other two (one man, one woman) NOT because he was the weakest link (he'd been one of the cleverer contestants throughout the show) but because the woman said 'I'm sick of looking at his hair' and the man said 'he looks like he should wear a dress' (incidentally, the bloke was quite stocky and not in the least feminine in appearance).
Why are people like this ? I just don't understand ....
Ranting over now. Thought I'd just share this !
PS I've realised that I've been posting here for months and STILL not posted a picture. Must get my arse in gear and overcome my techno-ignorance !
Simple .......the girl was jealous and the guy prolly thin or bald.
Sometimes the negative reactions that really long hair on men gets is just amazing. It can come from all sides. Family, friends, girl/boyfriends, strangers, employers, politicians, entertainment, the religiously outspoken, and once in a while even newbies on this board. There is quite a psychology to it all.
But ALWAYS those people with negative reactions have short hair themselves.
It's also kind of sexist. If a guy says something not so flattering about a woman's hair, he better be able to duck quickly. People all around him will tell him how rude he is, etc, etc. On the other hand, it's "perfectly ok" for a woman (or another man) to say the nastiest things about a man's long hair. What's up with that?
Why are women allowed by society to say "I am proud to be a woman", yet a man uttering "I'm proud to be a man" is labeled a clansman or the like.....
Absolutely. The guy who insulted him was obviously threatened by the longhair's masculinity and independence, otherwise he would have kept his mouth shut. The girl was just blind ^_^
The way I look at it, both sexes were meant to have long hair, otherwise a guy's hair would stop growing after about 4 inches. People seem to want to take it upon themselves to make sure everyone in society is a conformist sheep like them.
Oops, I'm ranting again. *^_^* But I hope you all get the idea.

Ever since time began, the independent thinker has been viewed as dangerous to the crowd. In ways, male long hair symbolizes the independent thinker...
I certainly hope she was sarcastic.
Go figure.
Actually, it is routine on this show for the dumber contestants to gang up on the smart ones and vote them out when there are only three or four contestants left. They don't want the smart contestant around when the one-on-one turns come! So the long hair was likely just an excuse.
Why anybody would make a fool of themselves to appear on this show and get all the insults is beyond me. Better to go to Vegas if you want a chance to make some money!
