So it finally caught up with me: I'm losing hair at an alarming rate. I talked to some people and the conclusion is that I can slow it down by cutting it. So tomorrow I'm heading to the barberer. It hurts, cause I worked really hard to save up to have long hair
Anyways, here's the haircut I'm aiming at:

(I'm after Navarro's haircut, obviously :)
... what length it is you are cutting from so I can try and talk you out of it. If you are thinning/receding, I really don't think shorter hair is going to have anything to do with slowing that down. It comes out at the root wether it is short or long in my own opinion. Good luck in whatever it is you do, my friend. Peace!
Try the two week rule. Do you know for sure that the hair loss is not the normal amount of a few 100 hairs a week which replace
themselves. Cutting hair has no effect on hair loss. You'll just loose shorter hair if that indeed is your problem. Two weeks!!!!!
I'd have to agree...and what do you mean by "alarming", exactly? 300+ hairs a day would be alarming, in my opinion...is it that much for you?

Indeed, not. If that were the case, I should be bald by now!
LOL
Cutting your hair won't do ANYTHING to prevent male pattern baldness. If you want to cut your hair, that is fine. It's your call. However, if you are doing it solely to prevent your hair from falling out, you clearly have been misinformed.
Redleader is absolutely right. I have MPB and I have learned to live with it. I wear a hairpiece to cover the bald spot and my 9 inch long flowing hair on the sides blends with it.I'm letting it grow to terminal length. Click to see pics.
Save your money, cutting your hair will have no effect on how it grows in.
