Hey Everyone,
Cool Board. I am currently in Medical School and I am finally attempting to let my hair grow out. I was wondering if any one has been to or seen any long haired male doctors out there.
Thanks,
Jay
Hi Jay,
I'm not a Doc, but I am a Pedi Nurse Practitioner in Boston. My hair is natural spirals down to waist length. Some like it...some don't. Point being, you have to do what makes YOU happy. Once you build up a rep for yourself in the medical world, people will accept you for your level of expertise...not hair length. But...most of the ladies LOVE IT!
Grow on!

Yes! I have seen long haired doctors. One of my friends is an emergency room doctor and his hair is shoulder length. I went to the hospital with him and saw a couple of doctors with long hair. One had hair to the middle of his back. I hope this inspires you.
Hey Guys,
Thanks for the comments. I am definitely inspired to keep up the hair growth.
Jay
Dear Jay,
I'm an Italian Doctor working in a Hospital.I love long hair, my wife has waist long hair too. At the beginning I didn't grow my hair, because I was afraid of the possible negative reactions from part of my colleagues and my chiefs.
But now I think that the sufference caused by a hair cut is would be greater than a blame by my chief.
Since last summer I decided to let my hair grow in the back keeping them in ponytail during the work as suggested me the friends of this beautiful site.
I think that people must judge a doctor for his work with patients, not for his hair.
Till now I had no problem and I feel very happy because long hair is a part of me; my wife his happy too.
Let your hair grow if it makes you happy and be a good doctor !!!
Hi Joe,
Thanks for the inspiration. It is stilling growing out. But I have to admit I have been tempted to cut it at times. It is stuck at this awkward length where it keeps falling in my face.
