Hey guys, well I have tried Loreal melting gel a few times but I'm afraid it's just not keeping my hair down like I would like(maybe it's just not for me?) Anyway I have been thinking a good way to keep my hair down may be to use a blow dryer when it's damp.
My question is, who here uses a blow dryer, and what advice can you give me on it?
if your hair is already frizz prone, a blowdryer usually makes it worse.
I don;t know if anyone remembers, but I'm thinking of trying to blowdry my hair through a very thin hat, which, if it works, wouldnt make it frizzy
Strictly speaking, I avoid hairdryers, because if your hair is flyaway, frizzy, etc., the heat will damage your hair and make it worse. Have you ever heard of those ionic hair dryer thingies that they sell? Using one of those on low might help.

No, what exactly are those?
But anyway, my hair isn't really frizzy or flyaway, it's just thick and tends to have a lot of bulk.
Lucky you! My hair is a frizzball if there's nothing in it.
Anyhoo, if you go to a drugstore (one of the chains), or a beauty supply store, look at the hairdryers. The one I have is by Igi'a (sp), but I'm sure there are other brands. Look for anything that says "anti frizz" or "ionic".
BTW have you tried Vive Serum? It's great stuff.
~Jenn
Nope, I have yet to try the Vive serum... maybe I should though. I have used melting gel and it doesnt really do what I want, although it doesn't do anything bad either and so i dont think its that bad of a thing.
ANyway, I still don't get exactly what an ionic hair dryer is? Like what does it do?
Ahh, well, it's a bunch of technical hoo-ha involving molecules and junk, but I think the basic idea is that instead of using loads of hot air to dry your hair, the ions that the dryer puts out are supposed to make the water molecules in your hair evaporate. I'm not about the frizz aspect of the dryer...too complicated for me.
~Jenn
Hmm sounds like it could be promising. Any idea on the cost?
Would that be a hair drier that blows your hair dry and then squirts water at you? Oh, you said IONIC... ;-)
I have thick hair to, and use a blow dryer daily, no damage! just don't cook it, I tried the Ionic dryers and realy no diference. I know most on this boared are afraid of dryers but they are fine if used right. And your hair looks nice!

Of the cool air blow dry.
On my list of things to buy is a blow dryer with a cool air setting. The one I have now has a button you have to hold in for cool air. Hurts the fingers to hold it in for 15 mins. lol
