This is the lead singer/guitarist of the rock group 8mm Overdose. His hair appears to go down past his knees. How the heck does someone like him manage to live with so much hair? There are other photos of him when he's out on the street or not performing on stage and he doesn't even appear to bother tying his hair up in a ponytail or keep it wrapped up under a hat. How does he avoid major split ends, tangling, getting it snagged, keeping it somewhat clean (if he's a typical hard-core rocker, proud of being a slob, does he wash it like only once a month...yeech)?
He must be in the upper, upper percentage of guys (and even girls) in the world, or at least in America, who wear their hair so long.
Apparantly he does just fine. I think his hair is awesome and wish my hair were as long as his.
DITTO!!!
It's not so hard, you should try it yourself. Given the time it takes to grow hair that long you can get used to anything and incorporate it into your lifestyle. The image of a hard rock musician being a slob is not a fair one as some are and some aren't just like any guy out anywhere might be and might not. If you have really long hair it's likely that you won't be as much of a slob as most people due to the fact that hair of that length requires decent maintence and hygene. If you don't take care of it it won't last...or just become poor quality dreadlocks naturally.
The same ways you learn to care for shoulder length, mid-back length, waist length, etc. apply to knee length and beyond.
One thing that there may be a misconception about is that hair this long needs to be tied up. There is no reason to do this unless you are in situations where hair can get in the way or be damaged...just like shorter hair. In fact, the longer it gets the heavier it gets when put in a ponytail/braid/etc. and the more scalp damage it can cause if always worn that way. This is why you may hear someone saying from time to time that cut their hair because it was giving them headaches...well, when you ask them about it they always wore it in a big braid, etc. Long hair should be flown free.
There is no "too long", it's just that most people cannot make it that far.
They are becoming a commonplace here. I have to keep my hair back (why? I don't know. I string xmas lights on trees) for my job. The pull from the weight of my hair gets to be unbearable.
You would not believe the relief of letting my hair loose at the end of a long day!
Sherri,
I think I know where you work........and the lights are for "The Lights before Christmas".....
I hope you don't have to string the trees back by the old conservatory? Those are some BIG trees...
Where are you? Every zoo does lights before xmas.
You're freaking me out now! I think you've seen me without my makeup on now!!! LOL
We don't have a conservatory...per se...but we have the museum and the greenhouse...
STOP FREAKING ME OUT!!!
j/k... I'd have seen THAT hair from a mile away!!! I jump up and take notice of every long haired man I see...they are few and far between. *sob*
Yes, we're in the Toledo area. We have a membership to the Toledo Zoo.
We go to the zoo often in the summer with our 2 year old. I like going during the winter also, since you get to see different behaviors in some of the animals.
The baby elephant is so fun to watch.
Do you know the total number of lights they plan on having this year? They seem to increase it every year.
I'd love to work in their educational department.....
haven't come down this far on the board in a while.
The amount of lights this year: 1,250,000!
We got them up a month ahead of schedule and were laid off as result. What a bonus...
How long is too long? My hair hangs to about 4 inches above my knees and I feel that mine is not too long. I am going to try to get it to reach my knees, if possible. Wearing it loose does not work well for me. I have to keep it tied in a pony tail with multiple soft cloth hair bands along its entire length to keep it from tangling due to having an even mix of straight, wavy, curly, coarse, medium, and fine hair. By doing this I am able to live with it quite well, thank you. As for the musician pictured above, his hair appears to be very clean. He probably washes it every few days. Hair length is a personal choice, shoulder length, mid back length, waist length, butt length, knee length, and you have to decide what is best for you.
There are different reasons why people have very long hair, for me I can say I am involved with feelings, I want it long and I love it long. If my hair will continue growing I think in one year it should reach waist length, and I want it down to my butt. For knee length hair I don't have the hair potential, but if I had it I would try.
I think it is important to have pleasure with doing hair care, and if the hair is something you really like it does.
It can be difficult to live with long hair in this society, and sometimes it was impossible for me. But are this really my problems? And what will happen if everyone refuses his own feelings for being conform and last not least to get his advantages in the easiest way?

How do you know you don't have the potential?
I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to have a man with hair at that length.
Not COMPLETELY sexual, but I would LOVE to play with that hair. It would be an added plus to a mutual attraction.
Of course, that's not to say that the hair wouldn't attract me to begin with...
It is a new experience for me that having long hair and having a job at the same time is possible (since about 4 years), the years before I had major problems with long hair in the business area, but what could I do, I didn't got a million dollar for living.
Now I have long hair but I got older with all of this male problems with thinning hair, I am already happy that it is still complete and that it has almost reached waist length. I enjoy it how it is, but don't know what the future will do with this hair of me.
And to your comment, I absolutely love long hair on women.

I should have such a dilemma.
Can a person have too much money? I don't know, give me a couple of million and I'll get back to you with an answer.
It grows on you.
You compensate as you go along. As every long hair does. It's just a part of you, and you care for it as you do every other part of your body.
His hair is beautiful. He has the money to give it the care it deserves, and it shows.
What was the question??? lol
