Last night my sister was over and did up my ponytail for me (really tight.) To my disbelief it stayed in (even the sides)! It has been 13 months (starting from a buzz cut)and I think I'm finally "there!" In her(female's)opinion, it looks great and I should definately wear it like that from now on, as my (thick/wavy)hair looks pretty wild otherwise. I'm a teacher (former posting was "47 and growing it out again") and think I'll take the plunge and wear it to work this way on Monday! This longhair stuff is (finally) a blast!

Think I may have responded to your previous post (or not) as I'm the same age. Started growing in 2000, don't really remember how long it took to get it into a tail, but I was really pleased when I could. My hair is sraight, until a certain point when it gets long and starts to wave. Some awkward months looked wild. Now I can put it into a tail when I want or let it fly.
