For the last six weeks I have had to take a number of different prescription drugs for a lingering illness. I haven't really had any bizarre side-effects except for one: my hair. My hair has really changed from what it once was. It is now ALWAYS very oily, no matter how many times I wash what kind of shampoo I wash with, and seems much thinner and "lifeless" than I have ever had before. This strikes me as odd since hair, I thought, is supposed to be "dead" and was actually already grown since I started taking the drugs. What's happening? Has anyone ever had this kind of reaction before? What kind of shampoos/conditioners might be helpful?
I need to know the names/dosages of the medications on which you have been started. Also give me an idea of how long you've been on these.
If they are personal, email me separately at:

I don't know...I think it has something to do with Hair requiring vitamins...but what do I know? (absolutely confused)
I personally think hair is a good overall indicator of health. If you are healthy, eating right, and excercising, your hair will look nice a healthy. If you've been ill, it's going to take a toll on your hair.
I'd say its more a result of you being ill in general than anything with the actual drugs.
Feel better
What are some of the shampoos and conditioners that you have been using?
