Hail everyone!
What is that whitish bulb at the end of a hair strand? Sometimes when a hair falls out, it has one, but other times not. Anyone know what it is?
If it has a bulb, it means that the follicle has ejected the hair (or that it was pulled out forcefully) and that the root came out with the hair. This is just a natural part of the regenerative process. If it comes out without the bulb, it means that your hair broke in midstrand
Cool, thanks! Makes sense! Yay for bulbs!...no wait...
That's the part of the hair that the forensic scientists want. An extreme close-up of a follicle appears in the opening credits of CSI (Las Vegas)
