Comrades:
I'm flying Wednesday morning 2/17 from Alaska to San Francisco for a few days to see old friends, etc. Here in Anchorage, I do not
trust hair stylists with my hair (mid-back, rather fine, not
growing as fast as I'd expect by now) -- but would like your
recommendations of a good shop with a longhaired male stylist
who can sympathize with my desire to get it waist-length and will
know what it needs after the last year of hands off. (It gets kind sloppy looking at times, but I think it's time to have a little
TLC on it.)
My former stylist in San Anselmo CA sold the shop last year -- so
I'd like your recommendations around San Francisco or suburbs
within 20 miles, Los Angeles (West Hollywood-Santa Monica-Hollywood-Burbank environs preferred), or in Honolulu or Maui.
(Yeah, it's vacation time to get away from a long subzero cold spell which finally broke above freezing today. A little tanning action
and sun to put the "natural highlights" in my lock is going to be nice to re-experience, too!)
Looking for a salon that might even specialize in longhair for guys -- a good deep conditioning treatment, know how to help my hair to look
good and stimulate healthy growth, can put in a couple of good tight braids, recommend some techniques to help me wear the "partial ponytail" style which I like but which usually gets tangled when
I try to untie it, and might have some interesting accessories and shampoos to recommend for my hair type.
Someone and someplace who really know what they're doing and will encourage a 42-year old longhair to keep at it and look good while
job hunting to move back to Americay!
(I'll be in the San Francisco-Peninsula-Marin-East Bay area around
Feb 18-20, in Honolulu Feb 21-23, Maui the rest of that week,
then probably back to Los Angeles March 1-3, and back in SF
for the end of the week before flying back to winter wonderland.)
Any suggestions, with address and/or phone numbers, would be
greatly appreciated. Stylist names you can suggest would be
helpful, too.
Thanks, Mahalo, Quiana for your help. . .
