Hey hairland, i was just wondering if blow drying your hair after a shower is really that evil.... my hair is very thick and it takes like 5 hours to dry out totally... like im not kidding its still a bit damp after 4 hours......
( well maybe i exagerate a bit, but you get the picture =D )
then theres nothing wrong with it
Mine has 2 heat settings... high and low....... and then a cool button that you push down and cold air comes out.
should i be only using this for drying my hair ? somehow it doesnt seem to me it would speed things up <__<
Oops, i thought this was a beatles themed thread ;-)
The cold air button is mostly for finishing touches when styling, have some benefits I don't really remember right now. I think it minimizes frizz or something at the top layers...
The higher heat you use the smoother and straighter (if your trying to straighten) the hair will get.
Though the hair also takes more damage the the more heat you use. You might want to consider using heat protective gels, I use Sleek.Look from Matrix when I blowdry my hair. Works really good, makes the hair smoother, shinier and protects from heat damage.

Being dead has nothing to do with it, any heat to the hair IS damaging. Though if you use a dryer properly, and perhaps heat protection gels, there's really nothing to worry about. After all, there are people using straightening irons every day on their hair, and they are a LOT hotter.
But hair gets damaged from heat, and being dead does not make it invincible.
The dead-thing just bugged me, so sorry if stating the obvious ;)
once every 3 days and my hair has suffered no damage
but its an expensive ceramic one($100..worth every penny though)
That was kind of the point of my message, there are a lot of people using straightening irons every day, they are a lot hotter, and not suffering from noticeable damage. So there is really no need to get too paranoid over blow dryers. Probably should have added the no damage comment though. ;)
I purchased my ceramic one for about that price too, about 1,5 month ago. But don't think I will be using it much more since I got the bio ionic one.
Hi!
Your hair sounds similar to mine. If you have time to do so, after you shower, put your hair in a "turban" with your towel to get most of the moisture off it. Then you can blowdry it straight but you dont have to use it as much as otherwise you would have done just straight out of the shower.
