Well today I decided to try something new, just for the heck of it. So I tied myself a half-ponytail and was surprised at how it stayed without the use of bobby pins or the like. Just one simple hairtie. Yes I know it's the kind with the metal on it but I was in a hurry and didn't have access to a good one. Plus, in the pics it looks pink but it's red. Not that it matters. I got some good compliments, and some negative comments such as "do you enjoy looking homosexual?" I handled this great. I asked him how many homosexual guys he had seen with this hairstyle. He got that "uhhhh" look on his face and said "none?" and so I asked him, now how many guys do you know that are homosexual AND have long hair? "uhhhhhh oh yeah! I know one!" So I said great, now how many homosexuals do you know with short hair? He got the point and walked away. HA! There were a few more negative comments but they were from friends and all in good fun. So now I know there's another option when I need it.

So I was hanging out with a good female friend in the Casto, San Francisco(the Gayest place on the planet) and we ran into several of her gay male friends. Everyone makes their introductions and of course I'm immediately asked if I'm gay. Had to roll my eyes because I've got a year's worth of hair grown out (well 11.5 months) and now I no longer "look gay." Sigh. I said "yes" and they still didn't believe me. Go figure.
looking good Steve. I never could pull off the half-ponytail, but I think it looks awesome on straight-haired guys.
There's a japanese student here who wears his hair like this. Looks great.

Looking at the photos it appears that your hair is pulled back
tight, and I bet it took a few tries to get it tied the first time.
You may want to be careful not to get too carried away because you
risk the possibility of damage and/or breakage.
Great hair and it looks neat! Your come-backs to this friend of yours are priceless. Ha ha ha..........you really did chase him away. :-) Just the way to handle people like that. Perhaps now or very soon (2-4 months) you might try for a "low" Ponytail and it will actually look quite well. Good luck with the growin!

Looking Good I'm doing the same thing! Not everyday though cos like Oversurf says it can damage your hair if tis too tight.
