I've got kinda fine, curly hair that's about at my shoulders. When I pick it out this time of year it gets huge, staticky and frizzy even though I condition well and use a spray leave-in when I get out. I pick it out so it doesn't look girly and all this happens. HELP!
My hair gets frizzy just walking through a steamed-up bathroom. Rainy or snowy days are worse. The one thing I've found so far that seems to help is called "Anti-Frizz" from L'oreal's "Studio" line. (I tried it initially 'cause I had a coupon and I was looking for something alcohol-free.) It's not a perfect solution, but my hair seems to be less frizzy with it than without it. It's not supposed to help "hold" a style, only to de-frizz - which I like, because my hair then feels more natural and less sticky - but perhaps putting some kind of gel over it would give you even more control? Depends, I guess, how much you want to experiment and how much goop you can stand on your hair.
