Whenever I see the show, whenever there is a longhaired guy, the gays always have him cut his hair. I'm not saying that is looks bad when it gets cut, I'm just saying that it seems that's what they always do.
Its what they do on all makeover/dating programs - Straight or Gay... Longhairs always get the snip...
I dont know if its always an anti-long hair thing, its just very easy to get the necessary "WOW!" effect if you cut off 14" inches of hair and sculpt an completely new style.
Thus brainwashing the general public into believing that a man looks better with short hair.
IMHO the Fab 5 could each use a makeover themselves. LOL
What would you do to the fab five's look?
Cut their hair
Redo their living quarters
change their wardrobe
buy them new shoes
... and they will be all the better for it.
(sound familiar?)
You do not have specific beefs with their looks, you are just have a gripe because you feel they are obviously ruining people's lives by doing what they are doing.
Maybe you need your own television show.
If the Fab Five volunteer for you to change there looks and living quarters, then you should go for it.
I never watch this kind of show. However, have you ever noticed how fashion designers are badly dressed, hairdressers have really bad hair, etc?
Wouldn't that be great?
Do one at a time. Have a team of 5 straight women do the makeovers. (Make them wear clothes from Eddie Bauer, etc....)
Can you imagine what their homes look like?
I'd give all five of them one of these!!!!!
Careful..you may have to stay after school for detention if you get caught. Seventh grade must be hard for you.
Like what happened to me. Except instead of it being gay men doing it, it was a pair of women (the hairstylist and my sister). And, there was no makeover show.

true, but a lot of those guy's long hair is so untidy and frizzy it just looks stupid and needs a trim!
KiwiDan:)
Sometimes the straights need a haircut.
You must have missed the episode where the rocker dude just got long hair his hair shaped and styled. He still had LONG HAIR at the end of the show.
No one seems to mention that this particular show doesn't just "pick on" long haired men. They pick on ALL types of straight men...even bald ones.
I think that is because he put his foot down and refused to let them cut his hair really short as they made a comment as to how much hair he going to allow them to cut.
I might be wrong but I think if he allowed them do whatever they wanted he would lost much more hair.
If he didn't want his hair cut short, then all he has to do is say NO. Then there is no issue or problem. Anyone on a make-over show can say no.
How do you know he told them not to cut it short and how do you know they would have cut it shorter if he would have let them? I watched the episode and I think what the style guy said is that long hair suited him.
It really gripes me that long haired people get all bent out of shape and get theatened by these make over shows. Men on this board like to assume that just because they do not want to a haircut, that no one does. You can have an opinion, but you always presume the worst and act like the stylist are going to pop out of the TV and cut your hair off while you are reaching for your beverage.
If you do not like make over shows, don't watch them.
Hey, lighten up ... I and others merely are expressing our "opinion".
Maybe if we didn't hear those three words "get a haircut" so often we might look at makeover shows differently.
I have not watched Queer Eye since seeing a couple of episodes. I do not like reality shows nor do I find the Fab 5 fab - I find them annoying.
Just wondering - do you have long hair? If so how long is it?
"Hey, you should lighten up" when someone makes a childish remark or says, "Get a haircut". Who cares what anyone thinks, as long as you are happy. (I do not mean to beat you up, I know it is hard sometimes.)
My hair is just past my shoulders. I am thirty and have had long hair for ten years. It has been almost to my ass a couple of times. I am happiest when it is the length it is now.
A "Baldy"... and a fern on top of the refrigerator no doubt.
