This weekend I was back at home. It turned out that my sister had a big date on Saturday night and my mom was going to straighten her hair for it. Since I had no plans, I decided to have my hair straightened as well. The results suprised me at first. It was as if my hair had grown six months worth in one day. A longhair's dream! It was a different look and feel, yet it fell apart after a short while.
nice... every once in a while, i'll blowdry my hair straight, and it definately feels longer. i used to blowdry quite frequently during my previous tries at growing, but stopped doing it so much once i read on here that it's not really good for the hair. the difference in length isn't really that noticable in the pics, but i'm sure you noticed it... and btw, you sorta look like johnny depp in that pic :)...
...did it take to do it all?
...did it take to do it all?
Ya..the length looks pretty much the same in those photos, but in real life, I really noticed it. It was mostly the top hairs hanging down a lot farther that looked a LOT different up close.
To answer your question, it took me approximately 10 minutes to do this. However, as my mom suggested, next time I wish to experiment, I may do hot rollers before the blowdrying to try and get the curly bottom to behave.
WOW~!
I've been wondering what you'd look like with straight hair, and I knew it would be longer...
...But I didn't know it would be THAT long! Congrats! I think both look awesome on you.
Keep growing!

It's fun to experiment.
Although I think the straight hair looks good, I think the spiral curls look better on you. There are amazing looking.
Your hair looks great either way! Great progress. Thanks for sharing the pics with all of us.
Looks good, as always. I still am partial to your natural spirals (wish I had them). :) Good job.
I like the straight look alot. I take it from your comments this this was accomplished basically with blow drying. How hard was it on you? Was it hard on your hair? I think that based on the different look and the appearance of extra length that it gives you, it certainly would be worthwhile, at least on occasion.
It fell apart relatively quickly. The sides and bottom began to "flip" and once I tucked front hairs behind my ears they developed a big flip from the curling around my ears. And this was inside of my house...it never saw any wind or humidity.
Heat is never good, but it did make my hair much softer.
Ya..if only it would stay in better. I'll have to try various other ways to see if they stand up to the test of my ringlets.
Ya....and I would straighten it if it didn't fall apart quickly.
