I just saw the new Russell Crowe movie "Master and Commander". It is set in 1802 and features a *LOT* of male long hair. The long hair is not a bunch of powdered wigs, but natural-looking long hair. It is mostly tied back but sometimes dangling free. Aside from the hair I really enjoyed the movie. The ship battles were great and the military aspects of the movie were fascinating to me (perhaps because I was a soldier myself). The movie was tied in nicely with historical places and figures. It was also interesting to see that the technology race in warfare started a long time ago! I was thoroughly entertained and the male long hair was a nice bonus.
Cool looking movie, I'll have to check that one out!
I've heard that it was Crowe's actual hair. He started growing it after shooting "A Beautiful Mind" and didn't cut it until very recently.
