If my hair will grow that long that is what I want. Fantastic !!
I do the multiple hairband thing sometimes but I'm only at mid-back (3 hairbands) These pictures are a real inspiration.
Are you THE much-quoted Bill ?
No, this post was by Absalom. Bill is the fellow on the right of the first photo.
Great shots, though. Very inspiring.

We posted the photos together, after taking them in my kitchen. The first one got us to giggling because I was holding the camera with my left hand, and it was not easy at such close range to show us both and show all of his hair.
Yeah, Absalom's hair is awesome for a man of any age, but especially for a guy in his fifties. My length (mid to lower back with a few stragglers approaching waist length) is more typical for terminal length for a man of our age.
Great Photos! Thanks so much for sharing them with us. And........only proves that "Longhair" can look great on a man of ANY age. No limits. Actually, I feel it helps retain youth for the most part. Again.....great photos!
1.How long have you been growing it?
2. When did it reach terminal length?
3. Are your kids jealous?
I have been growing it for about 12 years
I have not reached terminal length since it continues to get longer. Over the years I have been getting hair wise and correcting mistakes along the way that were causing excessive loss and breakage. For the longest time it would not reach my waist. I would comb it wet after washing it which caused much breakage. I do not do that any more and it currently is about 15 inches past my waist. About 2 weeks ago I learned something new. I started bringing my hair to the front to both wash and dry it and that has cut loss and breakage by at least another 50 percent. It could grow another foot with this latest discovery. I am just not sure. There is one thing I am sure of >> minimum loss = maximum terminal length. I will post updates in the future that show noticable growth.
No kids, no stress. Absalom
cool, very cool.
Great pics guys!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
Absalom - you're definitely the poster boy for longhair!!!:) Your length is what I'm shooting for!!!! How long did it take ya to get that length???
Bill - your mane is looking fantastic!!!
Keep up the good work guys & KEEP IT LONG!!!

It took about 12 years to reach its current length of over 3 feet. I probably could have done it in half the time if I had known how to properly take care of it although age may also be a factor. I am 50 years old. I learned how to take care of it mostly by trial and error. I learned how to minimize loss and breakage. Absalom
WOW! You're 50?! Your hair's texture, thickness and length is more impressive than most 25-year-olds'! Way to go!
wow great hair mine wont grow that long you are very lucky
The reason my hair grows so long is most likely due to good genetics and a low testosterone count. Low testosterone is a mixed blessing, it gives you great hair length but limited muscle strength. I am going for knee length and will post photos in the future when there is a noticeable increase in length. Absalom
I am trying for knee length next and will post updates when there is a noticeable increase in length. Absalom
