Hi, I'm just starting my growth to being a long hair, but here's my question. What's the best way to change the way my hair lies? It's been parted down the middle for longer than I can remember, and I want it to just go back over my head with no part at all. Can anybody suggest the best way to get rid of my part?
Thanks
Wes
Wes: I am still a "newbie" myself to long hair, so I am no expert. But when I first let my hair grow long, I just washed and dried it, and combed it with no part. There was no trouble in getting rid of the part. Now, I am trying a slightly differenet style, and now I want to have the part again. Same as before, I just washed and dryed my hair, and combed it with a part, and there was no trouble at all getting a part. So I don't think you should have any trouble getting rid of yours, even though you have had it for so many years. It's just how you comb it after you have washed and damp dried it. Good Luck!
Hello Wes,
In my experience, when hair is combed back it doesn't stay
there because gravity tend to pull it down to the sides, so
you'll end up with a center part. You can get your hair to
stay where it is combed if you use some hair styling products
like mousse or gel. But using those things to "paste down"
your hair is not comfortable. It might be best to live with
your center part until it is long enough to hold back with
some hair accessories.
WES:
People have different patterns of hair growth, and just like curly people want straight hiar, and v.v., so people whose hair easily parts in the middle wish...
I wish I had some micro dials that would change my hair in the way I wanted today so that I could try everything.
However, having said all this, I think the advice you go is good. If you are terribly committed to sefeating the part, then parting your hair on one side and combing it over and the next time it's wet, do the reverse,
What ever, keep it growing and do no submit to Deliliah who is the temptress in the employ of those powers who wish to keep you captive.

I've got an idea - why not comb it straight back over your head with no part?
Hi Wes,
When I was a child, my mom used to part my hair in the center and put my hair in two braids. This started from toddlerhood to when I finally whacked my hair off the first time at 12. Hate to admit, but it took me years to get rid of that annoying part as I wanted to wear my hair in different styles. One of the most successful tricks I used was I would blowdry my hair straight and get it right to where I liked it (combed back) and I'd spray on styling spray to keep it in place. I also would comb out my hair after washing and grab a chuck of my hair in the front and comb it and brush it for a long time and braid it while it was wet and keep it like that as long as I could -- worked good on a day I wasn't going anywhere.
You will probably have to do this for a while until you notice a difference. It also depends on how long you've had the part. Good luck.

Oh, sure, I believe this. This happens all the time where I come from - a 12 year old boy with two braids. In fact, I've got three on my block alone. I've also got a two headed cat and a man that weighs 3500 pounds. This is all so common.
Chaeya is a lady. I wouldn't be surprised if there were lots of 12
year old girls with two braids.
Richard,
A thousand thanks to you, darling.
