Hi all! i only recently discovered this board as i have now only just entered the modern technology world and have found it a great read. my thanks and best wishes to all of you who share my love of long hair!! but to the point. i've always had long hair ever since i was at school. its now down to below my jean pockets. It's always been complimented on and i have been fortunate to not face discrimination at work. reading some of the stories on this board i think i'm fairly lucky in that situation. However in the last year the comments have become of the nature that my hair is now too long for a man to wear and these comments have mainly come from long haired women which i have felt is kind of strange since they obviosly love their long also. can anybody give me feedback if they have encountered situations like this or whether they agree or not agree especially any long haired women that happen to stray past this site? by the way i have no intention of cutting my hair in the near future!!!! to all you long hair guys out their i would love to make contact and chat some more!!

jealousy is possible... or just the mindset that 'guys are supposed to have short hair'. don't let other's opinions get under your skin- there will always be someone with an opinion.

As long as you have no intention of cutting your hair then ignore them. I believe that for everyone one that doesn't like your hair length, there is a person who does. I'm all for a man having as much hair as he likes.

I think that men's hair look so much better when it gets longer. I don't know why, maybe it's the texture. Personally, I wish my husband would grow his hair long, but I don't think corporate America is ready for that.
Please don't let people's cruel remarks get to you. There should be no "rules" when it comes to men and hair. Keep it long!!

OK, here is from a long-haired woman who lurks here every once
in a while: some of these women may really be jealous, but for
most of them it's jut a rude way of expressing that they like
shorter hair better. Some people feel for some reason the need
to pressure others to look the way they want them to look.
Don't listen to them.
If these are the same women who complemented you on your hair
when it was only waist-length, it's not likely that they really
believe that men should have short hair.
