Sup all, it looks like Im gonna be going to mexico on sunday, which is great cuz for a week or 2 I get to vanish of the face of the earth but the down side is this particular area in mexico Im going to has brutal water, either it has a lot of chlorine in it or its hard, but the basic problem is it dries my hair out more than usual, last year when I went after just washing it once I just decided to leave it unwashed for the rest of the trip till I came back, but man did it reek! So this time I dont know what Im gonna do, I think Im gonna try a new conditioner while Im there, but what? I hear herbal essences is good, either that or garnier, what do you think?
If you've got the money you could use bottled water, otherwise don't wash it if you think the water's that bad. A week or two isn't going to do any harm as long as you keep your hair well brushed.
Bottled water. Hopefully they sell it at grocery stores there in gallon jugs?
I was thinking about that, but the problem would be the time it takes to do that, I think Im prolly just gonna have to use extra conditioner.
Lucky you...have a great trip.! Here's a few tips I use for when I am in the sun. You are right to not shampoo, but each time you go in the pool or the ocean, make sure to rinse your hair out after. I also put mine in a tail slicked back with a little conditioner. A hat is a good idea too. There is an excellent product available at salons and beauty supply shops called 'PhytoPlage' by Laboratoires Phytosolba. This is a 'high-protection sun-oil' that you can either spray on (sparingly) or apply with your palms. It gives incredible shine and loads of protection from sun and wind damage
