This is my first experience with a message board, and I just wondered if they all have a lever of 'cliqueiness' to them>? I try to post advice and answer some questions if I can, but since I never get any feedback, I can only assume I am not in the chosen crowd.
from my experience with message boards, i'd have to say that most, if not all are clicky. it's stupid. a lot of times when i've posted here in the past, i've gotten no feedback. occasionally, maybe one or two people will respond.
I've been involved with message boards and the like since I got my first 2400baud modem (ugh!), back in 1987. In other words, I've been at this since before the advent of the Internet. In my experience, getting a response to any kind of post is a crap shoot. There may be some minute degree of cliqueness to some boards, but several factors do play into that kind of cyber-environment.
I only know a handful of people on this forum, but I don't consider myself to be a part of any kind of clique. My own familiarity with the posters has nothing to do with which messages I reply to.
If this forum does have some kind of clique, I'm not aware of it, and I've been posting here, off and on, for at least the last 3 years. You may be simply experiencing a skewed sense of perception. Otherwise, I dunno what to tell ya.

Don't take that sort of thing personally. This type of board has people coming and going all the time and most visitors don't seem to participate and many others only check it occasionally...then there are those one post wonders who fill the board with repetitive questions and never follow up. Sometimes the guys here just don't have an answer. Sometimes the answer is the same one that has been said fifty times the past year and no one has the strength to say it again.
In any case, this board is one of the better ones for answering new people and any cliqueiness will show itself in other ways other than ignoring people.

I for one appreciate your professional input finding it informative and helpful………and absolutely love your “handle” !!
I have found this to be one of the better discussion groups going, with folks genuinely concerned about others and willing to share their experiences. The webmaster(s) of this site also have gone to great lengths to keep it a focused and non-vulgar Not clique-ish really but you will notice a grouping of answers, usually on age breaks.
Don’t be shy and please keep active in the group. I'll bet you already have a following you don't even know about !

i've posted at several forums over the years(posted at one forum for 4 years)
and yes there ARE cliques - but you get cliques anywhere public with lots of people
but here its different for some reason
i havent come across any cliques that have been formed at all
I have been posting on this board for a couple of years approx. I have also found that some questions and responses get a lot of answers, others none. Keep on asking. Your advice will always be appreciated, and I reckon this is about the most genuine and most friendly board around. Whilst trawling, I found one (on a completely different subject) which had received only one posting in two years!
