Anyone ever heard of using coconut oil for your hair? How does one use it? I understand if you get it at a health food store, it doesn't have any smell. I got some at a drug storea and it smelled like suntan lotion. Yech! Looking for something to make my frizzy hair look better.
I've used a variety of oil, but oil weighs heavy in my hair and causes it to hang there like a limp, greasy mess. and laid off after I found that my daughter's Baby Lotion worked wonders with my hair. Somehow I have this hair that's thin and frizzy along with a tendency to get very dry. My hair absorbs the lotion and makes it very soft and gives it a nice shine, if you touch my hair it appears dry. I've also used other body lotion in my hair, it also makes your hair smell nice. Its also cheap. I go to the 99 cent stores and buy whatever lotion they have.
I'm racially mixed so I have weird hair, so you might want to experiment with your hair right before you have to wash it or something.
Good luck,

Coconut oil, or other body oils for that matter, have been
a nice treat for my own somewhat dry and fine blond hair.
Just don't pour it on. If you get a massage, a little extra that
rubs off onto your shoulder lengths can add a pleasant amount of
moisture. Adds more curl back into mine!
I also use other oils, such as kukui nut, almond, and cannibas
(hempseed) lotions from time to time when taking a bath to add some
life to my hair. I mix it into the water, rather than applying it
directly to my hair, lay back into it, and find a little goes a long way in adding body and texture to my locks.
Let us know what it does for you!
