I am trying to grow my hair out but am having a hard time.....my frontal hair won't grow long. It grows to about a half inch to an inch and then stops. It has been like this since I can remember.
When I was a kid it wasn't like this as I had long hair in front and back.
Now those frontal hairs don't want to seem to grow beyond a certain length. What can I do to keep these hairs growing?
I think I have the same problem..my hair is about 12 inches now but there is a whole layer of inch-long hairs that still cover my forehead. It is especially noticable when I'm wearing it In a tail. The only way I've gotten around it is by using product to hold these hairs back.
Could this possibly be the newer hairs that just haven't grown long enough yet to fall back? I can pull my bangs to a bit below my chin, but if I pull my hair back, there's a layer of short hairs, which I always thought was normal. My longhair friend has this too.
Not sure why these hairs would only be 1/2 to 1 inch long and all the rest of the surrounding hair is much longer. Something's going on here. I've noticed on other people that they don't have this....that is, their hair from the front hairline is immediately long...there are no hairs that are short in length .
With mine the hairs are very noticeable being much shorter than the surrounding hair.
(just my thoughts. I'm not a "real" longhair yet, so take it with a grain of salt). I think that you have the 1/2 to 1 inch hairs all over your head (in fact, we all have short hairs, even Hair Religion and Doomlord) because of the natural regenerative process, but because of your particular hair texture and quality, the short hairs do not "conform" to the rest and stick out.
But what can I do to get these hairs to grow out longer???
Give them time. I consider these "baby hairs" who've just begun to grow, replacing those that have fallen out. I always have these. They aren't as noticeable on the rest of your head, but they are there.
I did notice when I began to really care for my hair that I got a lot more of these short hairs. My hair has actually begun to get a bit thicker.
I don't think so, Sherri. These hairs leave a noticeable "bare spot" when I comb my hair forward or to the side. That is, the rest of the hair is longer, but on the sides along the hairline they are definitely shorter. And not just a few....ALL of them.
Maybe you could post a pic of what you're talking about? What I'm thinking it is and what you're seeing could be two totally different things.
