Hello i am growing my hair out for the first time from having a shaved head all my life and i was wondering how to prevent splint-ends and if i get them what do i do
A few things to avoid split ends: eat well, avoid using blow dryers, don't overdo chemical treatments/hair colorings, use a large tooth comb after showering instead of brushes, don't use hair ties that have metal on them or ones that are too tight, and make sure you use a good conditioner.
If you do get split ends, just get a trim.
Good luck!

Silk, satin, or any smooth pillowcase.
My son stole my pillow, which has a satin pillowcase. About that time I became quite sick and was in bed, laying on a cotton pillowcase. I noticed many split ends once I was feeling better. I believe tossing and turning caused my hair to be caught on that pillowcase.
Of course, that coincided with the cold weather hitting. Cold weather tends to cause my hair to become dry. It could also be a combination of the two.
So, I've been trying to get up the courage to ask my mom for another trim. I was due for one 3 months ago, but didn't feel the need because I wasn't seeing any split ends. I just really hate giving up any of the length. >:(
