Not too long ago someone mentioned a KMS product that was a sea salt spray for the messy/shaggy surfer look, it's supposed to make you look like you just came from the beach.
Has anyone tried this?
I'd like my hair to look like I just came from the beach, but also the shaggy/messy look too. But now that I'm growing my hair out, I need to take better care of it. I've avoided all hair products other than good quality shampoo and conditoner.
Is this sea salt spray worth using? Just wanted to have a little fun with my hair while growing it out, might make the awkward stage a bit easier to handle. Also, I can't find a place around me that still sells KMS (although I could order it online I suppose) but some other hair salons sell more "upscale" brands, do you think there's a difference, or should I not even bother?
Sally Beauty Supply has something like that, it is called "Beyond The Zone Beach Head Texture Spray", which is basically a knock-off of the KMS stuff (not totally sure). I'm guessing that the price is around $3.99, so you could try that if you have a Sally's in your area. There is a website called "Make Up Alley" that may have some reviews on that product.
However, I have heard that salt water can be drying to the hair, so watch out for that.
Hi umm i tried to use it but i realized that you have to go consult with your hair stylist before you use it its hard!!
I agree with Max.
Salt can be very drying to one's hair.
There are other products that work for the same effect. I like Noodle Head by Beyond the Zone. It works for me. It's sold at Sally's

Hmmm, maybe I'll just try the more gentle products, and even at that just once in a while. I was kind of hoping to use a sea salt spray on a regular basis, but you guys are right, it might dry out my hair, and I don't want that.
Oh well, it was just a thought.
