A local grocery store is closing and I was lucky enough to scoop up $35 of shampoos and conditioners for around $12 this afternoon. I did my first test tonight, I am planning to test Aussie Slip tomorrow, and I restocked my supply of Physique Deep Hydrating (my favorite pair).
So I bought the Te Tao Water, Lotus Tea Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner (it was this or the one for colored hair...not much selection). The pair regularly sells for around $12, and cosiering its relatively small bottle, is no bargin.
So I used it. Upon opening the shampoo bottle and lathering up, the shower immediately smelled like green tea. Not a bad thing , it was just quite powerful. The shampoo wasn't anything exceptional. Then I moved to th conditioner. It latered up rather well (not as good as Physique, though).
After drying for a few hours, I reached several conclusions. My hair did feel soft, albeit soft in a fluffy/lightweight way and not in a sleek, hydrated way. My hair felt very light when I headbang it. It was a bit dry/rough, though, and rather frizzy around the sides/back. The smell is very strong; all I can smell right now is green tea.
I once used Te Tao and enjoyed it for the smell alone - although I agree that the job it does isn't exceptional. By the way, that's a fantastic head of hair you have, congratulations.
