thick, unmanagable hair

  i just started growing my hair out. it is so thick and unmanagable that it looks more like an afro than a shaggy do, like i would like. do any of you know of any products that can think hair out a little or help tame it? i heard there is a shampoo by freedman, but i can't find it anywhere. thanks in advance.

    its not so much the shampoo you use its more the conditioner (thats if you use it!! and you should!!!!). A good conditioner should make you hair more managable and a hair serum (eg l'oreal smooth intense) will smooth out your cuticle and you hair should lay more flat and less afro'ish.

      I recently found a leave in called infusium 23 that has made my own fro ish hair a lot more manageable, go for the spray its easier to use too.
