Hi to all longhairs ,
I'm considering of coloring my hair. My hair is very dark (almost black) , and I like that blondish , gold colored look.
What I want to know is ; is coloring your hair bad for your hair ,
and does it work if your hair is long and still growing.
My hair is now 'ponytailable' and about 11 inches long.
coloring your hair will almost certainly damage it. if you absolutely MUST change your hair color, have it done professionally.
Especially if you're going from dark to light.
Coloring hair does NOT damage it. In fact, you will probably enjoy the condition after. My hair just feels better (thicker, etc.) after.
I do recommend having it done professionally.
If you are talking about bleaching itprior to adding color, then I agree that it will damage the hair.
You can not change the color too much without bleaching : (
I have dark brown hair and I had a mixture of blond, copper brown, and my natural color. I will tell you that your hair will feel a lot more dryer than if you don't. I had to get my hair set once a week with this, but even with that the heat in L.A. caused it to get really frizzy so i gave it up. If you're willing to go the professional route and have it looked after, then go for it. Just a lot of trouble. I had to get my hair done once a month just because of my roots alone. A lot of trouble.
