I wear my baseball hat everytime I am outside including at work is it bad for the hair if your trying to grow it long? Also how many inches of hair do I need if I want my hair to long down to the base of neck? Thanks

Providing that you don't have a habit of spinning your hat on your head, I don't believe there's any harm in wearing any sort of hat.

It's best to just wait for hair to grow, such calculations are unnecessary. The average hair growth rate is six inches every year, you can make a decent estimate with that idea.
