Hi all,
Well, Im finally taking some time to fill you in on my hair growth progress. Its been 20 months now. Not one hair has felt a clipper or scissors. For the newbies on the board, I have been wearing a hairpiece for 15 months to cover my balding top. The regulars have seen my short hairpiece (7 inches)
I got a new 22 incher a couple of months ago. The short one had started becoming inappropriate, as it didnt blend in as well with my real hair as at the beginning. So without further ado, heres the link to the pics
Any questions or comments are welcome.
M
PS: Hey Treyn, really good looking hair youve got there. Cant get over on how fast its growing. Keep up the good work.
Dude, you look SO much better without the hair piece! You're practically the spitting image the most bad-ass character from the Rocky Horror Picture show:
That is a genuine compliment, btw. As terrible as that movie is, millions of fans around the world agree that he is one of, if not the best, characters.
Grats, and keep it long!!
You must be kidding, The guy looks 90. I also look much older w/o the HP i.e with the chrome dome. That's why I now keep it under cover. But hey, you're entitled to your opinion; tastes vary.
Thanks for the input. Peace.
That picture is of Richard O'Brian, who played the character Riff Raff in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. He's a genius. Not only did he write the original play and the screenplay for the movie. But, he also wrote all of the music as well. That pic was probably taken about 25 years ago. Hmmm I wonder what he looks like now. Ummm, what do you mean the movie is terrible? I've seen it 37 times!
The only reason you've seen it so many times is because the movie was - and is - so bad that it garnered a cult following just from the hordes of fans who wound up returning to theaters to see it, just so they could collectively make fun of it while it played.
To this day, Rocky Horror is the only movie ever produced that must be seen with an audience, particularly one with experience in making fun of it.
;)
Mark - after seeing that first picture the first words out of my mouth were "holy cow" for real. The hair looks really nice.
Thanks
I've got everyone fooled. Even at work, the girls have complemented me and a couple of them said they envy that head of hair.
Click on the link to see my hairdo at work. My real hair blends in with the hairpiece...seemlessly.
Regards Marc
Wow...so the Devin Townsend hairdo can look good. Looks neat both with and without the piece, man...
Thanks for the input. I defintaly prefer going around with the HP.
Hi,
What do you use to secure the hairpiece? It seems it would be prone to shifting or coming off. Do you use some kind of tape?
Thanks,
Al
The front is held in place by 3 pieces of 2 way tape (especially made for wigs & hairpieces). The red part peels off. The tape is transparent. There are 5 clips that grab the real hair. Very secure & comfortable. See pic attached.
Cheers,
Marc
Hmm, I guess that wouldn't work for me, as I am only thinning on top, not bald, so the tape would pull out the hair that I do have.
Al
Good point;
in order to avoid those problems,I have to shave the top near my forehead every day.
Looks great!
Where did you get it? How much did it cost?
- Brian
Thanks!
It cost $1,300 CDN (about $1,000 US).
I bought it a a Salon that specializes in wigs & hairpieces for people with hair loss problems:
It looks great, a perfect and seamless fit. Absalom
