Hiya everyone
I have decided to grow my hair and i havent had a cut for a good half a year, however, my hair is growing out in a circle - it looks like i have a bush on my head.
It looks really weird and i just feel awkward, but i really want to grow my hair (like david beckham or paul hunter) but people keep on saying get a hair cut.
Im not going to cut my hair, but what can i do about this bush thing?
cheers
jay
Let it grow like that until you can tie it or relax it in the meantime, or simply try to sport a cool afro and don't brush or mess with curly hair when dry.
good luck
Ahh yes, another curly head of hair trying desperately to grow out. . . .welcome to hell kid ;)
I've got almost painfully curly hair (I used to think my mom had an affair with a person of Negroid heritage!) I'm almost to 17 months, and I'm just now coming out of the akward "fro" stage.
Some things about curly hair.
1) You have a fro. Until you have it for about a year and a half, you will have a fro. Any attempt to resist (gel etc.) is futile and will only damage your hair, leading to even more fro-iness.
2)Do not touch your hair once it's dry. Do not attempt to brush your hair. . .ever :)
3)Once you have grown it out though, it has alot more style and class than straight hair. . .trust me it's worth it! (My longer straight haired friend and I go out in public, but I'm the one that gets compliments!)
Hang in there, man, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Go to www.bettadreams.com/themenslonghairhyperboardpics , go to the second page, and look at RedLeader. He is like a god of the curly-hairs.
also, you can go to my Yahoo! photos page at http://photos.yahoo.com/thatballguy , I@have some recent photos up there.

Sorry about that blank message...hit the Enter key by mistake. Anyway, I agree with all they said being a thick, curly hair myself at 15 months in. But I do use a cream instead of a gel, American Crew Texture Cream. Gel is too crunchy for me and sometimes leaves flaky residue. Enjoy!
