I want my hair long, and now. What are some ways to make it easier and make the process much faster when it comes to this subject?
I am sorry to burst your bubble but growing long hair is a long time commitment. Hair typically grows about 6 inches per year and is determined by genetics. Good nutrition may make your hair grow a little faster but there is no magic potion that will make your hair grow much faster. Absalom
Your only other option is a falsy. *Ooh!* Wig or extensions - they're your options for long hair *now*. Word to the wise - it's EXPENSIVE.
Count yourself lucky you don't have terminal length above the shoulders like some unfortunates. :p Now THAT is hair hell!
i really want my hair to grow like 3-4 inches in 4 months, is there anyway it could or would happen? and also i heard that long hair is more attractive to guys, is that true?
I think we all want that when we start, but alas, hair grows for most 1/2" a month. A few are luckier..........but there isn't a "right-away-now" solution. You just have to put in your time, and if possible enjoy it as it goes along. Take a photo of what you have now and then another photo in 4 months. It is surprising what only 4 months (2") can do to your apperance. Good luck.
If you want long hair so fast, are you sure that you would want to keep it for long or would it quickly be sheared in light of the next hair style intrest?

I've noticed a few of your posts where you seem to be developing a stance which kinda says - "I'm not interested in you unless you are going 'lifesytle longhair'"
I hope I'm mistaken, cos it doesn't sound that nice.
But look at what he's replying to. All that can be said has been said about growing hair faster: Stay healthy and be patient. There's no more advice to be given really.
But this person who asked maybe has never thought about the committment that is required to grow long hair, and this is what Hair Religion is bringing to light. I must say I agree with him.
You ARE mistaken.
If you haven't figured it out yet, there is much more to growing LONG hair than just going to a movie and coming to the conclusion that you want long hair because you like the actor's hair (instert music example as well). Long hair does become a longterm lifestyle by it's inherrent nature. I also would not be contributing to this board if I was not "interested in you unless you are going 'lifesytle longhair'", because as you know there are far more guys here now with buzzcuts and very short hair than very long hair.
To grow long hair (and I don't put limits on the length of long and can only assume that one will continue to grow it longer), you need to understand what it is that you are doing OR proposing to do. When I started I was on my own, I didn't have an online board to give me advice, encouragement, ideas, etc. We see quite a number of guys coming to this board on what amounts to no more than a whim based on things like seeing The Lord of the Rings. All I try to do is stimulate their thought processes on the matter from what I've learned from my experience. That may be more helpful in the long run than telling them what gel to use, etc. because they either are going to do it or are not and will quickly revert to their familiar short hair styles.
This is not a negative thing, this is not a mean thing to do, this is not some way that I am trying to elevate myself above other people...it IS a simple question that the person should be able to answer for themself and is no tougher than scads of questions and other things that they will no doubt hear and experience in their long, slow process of hair growth, should they really choose to grow it long.
I can't help the interpretation you make of a question posed to another person, this is how I get 99% of the criticism that I get on this board from time to time, from someone else reading things into communications between other people and then taking offense to it when the person it was directed to either doesn't take offense or never bothers following up the thread anyway (one post wonder).
No I figured this out a while back - but then again my initial motivation was similiar to what you describe. Fact - people might do these things on whims... but the dedication that is necessary will become aparent and will soon weed out those that don't have the self discipline and determination to see it thru.
I just dont like the notion of challenging someone with these points when they first enter the board. I don't think its particularly welcoming. Its probably the thing most likely to create one post wonders.
People will learn patience and commitment you don't necessarily need it when you first decide to grow your hair. (Though admittedly it helps)
Sorry if I misinterpretted your post, but that said you can help how people interpret what you write. Whats more what you post on this board is for public airing and discussion and you can't complain that someone else takes offence to something that your direct at another.
You may call it "challenging them" but I call it asking them a simple question. And yes, it is important for them to think about certain aspects of growing hair because they are here asking questions which means that they are already thinking about it (albeit at an early level) and asking for thoughts...which I can supply on this discussion board. If they end up taking such offense at my question that was asked in response to something that they said then I'm afraid that they stand little chance of continuing to grow long hair in the face of comments and opposition that they will surely see from their own community.
No, that is not what creates one post wonders (that is a whole other internet concept). And if you notice, an amount of time had passed and other people had responded by the time I posted and there has been no response from the original poster. After awhile you get the feel for one post wonders. Someone wanting the no-wait solution for growing hair will not hang around here when we tell him that it doesn't work that way. This is why I asked what I did, because it was clearly relevant and needed to be asked.
Yes they will and it takes time, but this guy stated that he didn't possess any of that, hence he needed to be informed of such a concept.
Like I said already, when I started growing there was none of this. Now guys can come to the board with buzzcuts and announce that they are now going to grow their hair "long". The process therefore has changed and now their attention must be called to the decisions they are claiming to make or want to make. It IS helpful because you are either going to do it or not.
True, I have always understood that and make my posts with that in mind. It's not just this guy that will need to consider this question. I don't complain but rather defend myself against other's complaints. I can have a problem with people complaining about my posts being offensive when they clearly are not.
