This goes against what a lot of people want, but I feel my hair just grows FAR too fast. I know most everyone here wants all the length they can get as soon as possible, but the fact that it grows so fast is ruining my enjoyment of it. Does anyone know of any methods, ways, or anything I can do to slow down it's super charged growth? It's faster than a speeding bullet!
Are you crazy?! May I ask for what reason you would like to slow your hair growth? My hair grows steadily at approximately 1 inch per month, and even though this is a lot, more would always be nice! Exactly how fast does your hair grow to make it undesirable?
2 reasons:
First, and this is probably just a part of the akward stage that I have to deal with BUT still, it has to do with how fast my hair grows: Every time I find some way to manage it that I like at the length it's at, it just grows out more within a week or so and I can no longer deal with it that way!
Second, I am not a terminal length kind of guy, I want it go get to a certain length and be satisfied, and when I do, I know it's just going to grow out too quickly and I'll have to get haircuts as often as when I had short hair! Good enough reasons? Now, can someone please help!
just get some trims, not only will it make it shorter but the ends should look great. I doubt your hair is growing so fast that a trim every so often wouldnt work
Easyiest way of all: Cut-it-off!
Yeah but that costs money!
Only if you want to look any good!
Scissors are cheap enough
... most, probably all of us here, would love to have your problem, so it is kind of hard to sympathyze. My suggestion would be to stop getting any kind of vitamins and lower yourself into really bad health. Now that would probably slow your hair growth, but then that would also seem as crazy to the rest of us as your current desire to have slower growing hair. You have to understand the absurdity of what your asking in relation to the purpose of most people being on this board in the first place. We want to be long haired men and be long haired as quickly as possible. Most probably aren't even taking you seriously here. To be honest, I didn't. Fair enough? No hard feelings. Peace!
RE: Treyn's Message
I don't really think what I'm asking is too absurd. The best advice for people going through the akward stage is just to enjoy it, and I find it hard to enjoy when it grows too dang fast.
A shame my question(which was different after so many people post the same things over and over) wasn't taken seriously. Oh well.
I don't know about hair growing TOO quickly! Maybe
the REAL problem is that your hair still feels 'out of control'
because it isn't long enough, yet?!
When you are in any kind of an 'awkward phase' (short or long) you
may experience this 'FAST-out-of-control' feeling.
Once your hair is REALLY long, this feeling goes away
especially when it is tied in a tail.
Now that my hair is quite long, I don't feel any growth at all!
(even though it is still growing at the rate of at least 1/2 inch a month.
What I'm trying to say, I suppose, is that the longer your hair is,
the LESS you will FEEL the growth as it gets added on month by month.
Tie it back if necessary and...
ENJOY!
Eeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Get trims.
You could always give some to me! lol. Anyway, try trimming it regularly. It may give you something to focus on.
Like how fast is your hair growing....more than an inch a month...any faster than that would be unbelievable (if you get my drift)...
It's about at an inch, but maybe slightly more!
Lay off him. He's clearly asking for help, and not a flaming.
This is what I'd do.
1: Grow it to the length that you want (most people would enjoy the awkward stage if it went faster :)
2: When you've reached your desired length (what is that BTW?), monitor it's length for a few months, get trims, and you should come to know fast your hair grows at that length, and when exactly you should get trims), but do bare in mind that in a few years to come it may slow down a bit, then start growing at the right speed again.
