hey, My hair all comes down to my shoulders, its about 12 inches long and straight but it does this stupid looking thing where it curls up just at the end, dunno if im explaining that too well but its seriously annoying me!! can anybody help?
Happened to me too. If you find an answer let me know, lol.
Tying it back helps but I know that's not what you're after. As it gets longer it probably won't do it as much. I don't find straightening irons help much with this or any serum because it's at the ends.
Drying your hair through with a towel pulling down to the ends of the hair instead of rubbing the hair will help some - this is instead of using heated appliences. It's better for your hair too. :)
I personally have found that a straightening iron works very well for this problem. When using it, just curl your hair the opposite way, and it should behave.
Depends on the iron. I find a steam iron works best but if your hair is fairly poreous it can still bounce back very easily. It all goes back to what type of hair you have I guess.
Are you using a rounded or a flat iron out of curiosity?
Hey thanks for all the tips guys, i find if i blow dry my hair (even though i know i shouldnt) it adds volume and stops the curls at the end but exposure to wind or rain etc, tends to make it curl back up. i tried an iron once just for fun and it seemed to work really well, it really makes your hair hang well but i wouldnt want to make a habit of that because of the damage they could do to your hair or just because it looks a little bit girly, either way im just hoping itll work itself out over the next 6 months or so, it probably wont even be noticable when it reaches mid-back, let alone terminal! Thanks everyone ;)
any "flip out" can be corrected to a "flip under". whenever you are pulling a WIDE-TOOTHED comb or VENT brush through your hair, curve it under as you reach the ends of your hair. can also place either the comb or brush UNDERNEATH your hair (in the back or at the sides) at the hairline and curve it under as you comb to the ends. hope you get the picture.
Just be careful with that hot iron on the ends; they get fried and break off real easily, an' then your hair grows a lot slower.
Why don't you try growing it past the shoulder? Maybe it is just the hair hitting the shoulder that is causing the ends to flip up.
You're in a long stage and all your ends need to get well past your shoulders. It's not that bad a stage actually. Stop complaining; by November/December this will all be a faded memory.
